In honor of the Chinese, Year of the Goat. The Jordan Brand once again nods to the GOAT (the greatest of all time), with the next installment of the Air Jordan series, the Jordan XX9 ($224.99). The lightest Jordan edition yet, the XX9 features a one-piece performance-woven upper designed to bend and move naturally with your foot. It also serves as a virtually blank canvas that allows you to rock a number of color blocks and designs, including the renowned elephant print made famous by the Air Jordan III. A redesigned Flight Plate midsole enhances energy return for a smoother ride; one of the aspects that makes the XX9 a performance-driven shoe that plays as well on court as it looks off it.
What lit a firestorm on the courts in 1985 spread to the hallways and streets with the AJ1 Mid ($109.99). This version of the original Air Jordan features modern materials, including full-grain and nubuck leather on the upper, along with a perforated toe box for durability and ventilation. The ?ir Jordan Wings logo adorns the ankle collar.
Jordan refreshed the Flight Origin, its ode to 1990s basketball heritage that launched in July 2013, with the Flight Origin 2 ($114.99). The 2 features color blocking on the heel counter that fades to an end along the midsole. And a leather-and-nubuck upper offers durability and support with a premium appearance. Webbed loops integrate with the laces to help lockdown of the foot, and an injected Phylon lightweight-foam midsole includes a visible Air-Sole unit for that Nike Air look.
