UNDER ARMOUR SPINE VENOM - MEN'S

The complex articulation of the human spine served as the inspiration for Under Armour's Spine Venom running shoe.

Released in January 2013, the shoe was geared toward runners with a neutral gait – those whose feet rolled neither significantly inward nor outward after heelstrike.

The Spine Venom featured a breathable synthetic upper with 360-degree MPZ construction as an underlay. This consisted of durable, lightweight protection pads at key contact zones designed to help absorb impact while maintaining support through compression.

The Spine Venom featured a full-length Micro G midsole, which was designed to deliver a lightweight, responsive ride. The pronounced flex grooves in the outsole promoted natural, efficient foot flex.

Adding to the efficient design was the Micro G foam, which Under Armour designed to be about 30% thinner than standard foams, which decreased the overall weight of the shoe while offering lower-profile responsiveness.

• Full-length 4D foam sockliner to help eliminate internal slipping
• Solid rubber outsole for full ground contact and traction
