Playing goalie can be a dangerous duty. But if you have the right padding, you'll be able to get your hands on a fast-moving ball without worry.
Getting the Proper Fit
Goalie gloves are usually slightly larger than your hand. The larger surface gives you a better chance of deflecting the ball. Gloves with thicker palms are great for added grip and protection. Because goalie gloves wear out rather quickly, you might need two pair for one season. Goalkeepers often use one pair for practice and a second pair for games.
Sizing
Nike goalie glove sizes are determined by measuring the width of your hand in inches, excluding the thumb.
adidas goalie glove sizes are determined by measuring the total circumference of your hand (both palm and backside) in inches, excluding thumb. You should use your dominant hand, the right if you are right-handed, and left if you are left-handed.
