Diadora’s Roots

Diadora got its name from the Greek, “dia-dora”, meaning to share gifts and honors — a value deeply engrained in the brand and how it was built. With its roots in Italy in the ’40s, the brand’s original footwear venture was a mountain boot, and a highly-exalted one at that. With the mountains in mind, Diadora went on to make apres-ski boots, but by the ’70s, had expanded to other professional sports that got a little more attention, like running and tennis.
