An All-Star Collection
Penny Hardaway, one of the more decorated point guards of all time, made his presence known in the league through the ’90s and beyond. Towering over most defenders, Hardaway was one of the tallest to ever command an offense from the top of the key. With the ability to shoot the ball, take you off the dribble, and even post-up on the block, Hardaway possessed more weapons than most.
Penny’s game soon achieved all-star status, and his shoes soon followed. Hardaway donned the Nike Air Max Penny during one of his All-Star game appearances, and by 1997, Hardaway’s Nike Air Foamposite One made its debut with the iconic 1 Cent logo on the tongue. With a futuristic aesthetic even by today’s standards, the Foamposite achieved streetwear status not long after hitting the hardwood. By pushing the boundaries in footwear design, the Foamposite grabbed the attention on and off the court with its hard-shell upper that served as a canvas for some truly unique colorways. Penny’s highly exalted collection of sneakers also includes the Nike Little Posite in boys’ sizing, and new iterations of this on-court classic always on the drop.
