Dassler first named his company “RuDa” as a combination of his first and last name, but it didn’t sit right with him. Just months later, the PUMA name came to him, as the strong, quick cat brought to mind the type of performance he hoped to elicit from athletes.
PUMA’s initial focus was on the soccer pitch, and it wasn’t long before it expanded to the track, courts, and fields.
From Workout to Chill Out
Whether you’re heading to the gym, a spin class, or nowhere in particular, there is women’s PUMA apparel that will fit your lifestyle.
There’s a certain freedom to well-crafted athletic wear, and options abound. A body-hugging bandeau top and bodysuit offers standalone or layering options — the former with minimal coverage that eliminates straps and frees your arms, the latter with long or short sleeves and a half- to three-quarter zipper that lets you adjust your look and fit.
Leggings feature different styles of colorblocking that run the length of the leg, but each one includes that recognizable leaping PUMA cat logo at the hip.
There are looser-fitting utility pants, too, which also offer standalone or layering options. And sports bras and spaghetti-strap bralettes let you mix and match however you like.
PUMA men’s clothing has plenty in guys’ sizes too. Retro-style T-shirts feature the classic logo, crewneck tops splash an oversized “PUMA” wordmark across the chest, pullover hoodies offer a classic option, and lightweight track-inspired jackets give you a way to layer up over all of it.
Collaborations Keep PUMA on Point
PUMA has reached out to trendsetters for fresh takes on classics. The PUMA x Adriana Lima collection taps the Brazilian model’s mind for boxing-themed apparel. Work from the inside out with sports bras, a loose-fit tank, a hoodie, and tights with mesh panels for a breathable feel and amazing look.
The PUMA x Charlotte Olympia collection, envisioned by British designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal, draws from the looks of old 1940s and ’50s Hollywood. Sports bras, tees, and pants with leopard print insets are among your options. And you can even go with a dress to step out — and step up — in style.
Choose Your Shoes
Any great look starts from the ground up, and PUMA has the heritage to prove it.
Choose from casual kicks, such as the PUMA Cali sneakers, for a low-profile silhouette that offers a range of colors, or the PUMA Rise sneakers, which play off classic running silhouettes with layers that look great with every style.
